Analysis of Agrammatism in Aphasia

The thesis explores interdisciplinary collaboration between linguistics and speech therapy, focusing on impaired communication abilities - specifically, neurogenic disorders of speech communication known as aphasia. The aim of this work is to integrate linguistics and its effective application in the therapeutic care of patients with aphasia. The practical part is centred around the analysis of aphasic speeches, which are linguistically dissected in various language dimensions. Specific interferences and agrammatism are identified. This analysis subsequently leads to the creation of a model therapeutic unit, showcasing the significant applicability of linguistics in aphasiology. Development of individual language levels in preschool children

The diploma thesis deals with the development of language levels in children aged 5 to 6 years. These are children before starting primary school. At this age, the stage of preschool education and the development associated with it ends. The end of this period is specific in that children are preparing for the start of compulsory schooling. By the end of the preschool period, the child should achieve certain results in the development of language levels. The goal of the practically oriented part of the diploma thesis is to analyze the development of language levels in preschool children. The work is logically divided into two parts. The first of them introduces speech development, defines the pre-school period and delimits language levels on the basis of documents from the specialist literature. These are theoretical knowledge necessary to create a comprehensive picture of the investigated issue. Furthermore, the thesis describes the most frequently occurring types of impaired communication skills typical of this period. Development of language levels in children in kindergarten as a prevention of learning disabilities

This bachelor thesis is focused on the development of children's speech within all language levels as the prevention of learning disabilities. The aim is to point out the keystone of the development of children´s speech before attending school. Here, it was created the educational material for preschool children which support the language levels and decline in the risks of specific learning disabilities. Moreover, it contributes to the interest of children in written and spoken forms of speech. The theoretical premises are the general characterisation of preschool age and the development of speech with respect to the Framework Educational Programme for Preschool Education. The four language levels (phonetical-phonologic, lexical-semantic, morphological-syntactic, and pragmatic), their defining and ontogenesis, are presented in this thesis. Finally, the specific learning disabilities that relate to the development of speech and language levels, are presented in the last chapter of the theoretical part. The practical part is consisted of the methodology material, which is divided into three thematic units. The thematic units were proven in a kindergarten and they were evaluated subsequently. Methods of the group interviews, indirect and participant observations were used for the evaluation. Each thematic unit is supplemented by results, risks, and recommendations. The practical part is supplemented by an enquiry of the phonetical-phonologic language level, which is the most accented level in the kindergarten.
Language development of child - basics of reading literacy

This bachelor thesis is focused on the language development of a preschool child. The theoretical part deals with the development of speech, individual language levels, preschool children, and their education. It marginally mentions the topic of reading pre-literacy and literacy, which a child must develop at a preschool age, so it can build on the acquired skills later in the basic education of acquisition of initial reading and writing. The practical part includes a qualitative survey, which uses a diagnostic battery to determine the language level of children before the start of compulsory schooling. Subsequently, a program to support language and reading pre-literacy is implemented with ten respondents. The results show that if the language area not only develops naturally but also purposefully, the results in the child's speech improve. Children learn their language skills better and use the grammar of the particular language correctly.
Development of preschool children with special educational needs.

The bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of Development of a child with special educational needs of preschool age. The content of the thesis is focused on children in ordinary kindergartens and kindergartens established under § 16 paragraph 9, especially in speech therapy classes. The bachelor thesis is divided into four chapters. The introductory theoretical part of the thesis focuses on a specific child of preschool age. The second chapter deals with the developmental peculiarities of a child with impaired communication skills. Describes selected disorders of children's speech, including their possibilities of diagnosis and therapy. Another important part of the qualification work is the description of work in a regular kindergarten and in the speech therapy class of a kindergarten. In the empirical part, the last chapter, methods of quantitative research are performed. The main task with the help of a questionnaire survey is the view of pedagogical staff who use the comprehensive diagnostic, compensatory and educational aid Kangaroo's suitcase.

Diagnostic markers specific language impairment from the perspective of a speech therapist

This thesis deals with specific language impairment. The theoretical part introduces related terminology, classification, etiology, symptomatology and diagnostic issues. The research section analyzes the different linguistic levels in a sample of children and devotes a common specific variations in verbal production that could be designed as diagnostic markers. The qualitative study was an analysis of verbal production of nine children ranging in age from 5.4 to 5.7 years, with specific language impairment. In all the statements were reflected deficits in the use of sibilance, skipping voice in the first position, disruption of understanding to varying extents, incorrect naming and difficulties výbavností words and disturbance of speech and other prosodic factors. Linguistic Analysis of the Jananas Band's Lyrics

This bachelor's thesis aims to analyze the lyrics of the music group Jananas mainly from a linguistic point of view. In the theoretical part of this thesis it clarifies the view of the researched language material - song lyrics. Music and speech are undoubtedly related. In the beginning, we will look at this relationship between music and language, but we will also present some findings that make music and speech completely different. We will also describe the relationship between poems and songs. The boundary between these genres is relatively thin, so we will try to define their differences. We will specify the inclusion of song lyrics in the sphere of communication, and we will also include these lyrics in the functional style. We will look at the songs partly from the point of view of musicology. We will define their musical genre and briefly summarize the history of the development of this genre in the Czech Republic. We will introduce the music group Jananas in more detail. In the practical part, selected lyrics from two albums released by the Jananas music group will be subjected to linguistic analysis. Aspects of deviated communication disorders

Thesis is aimed at children; within 5.5 to 6.5 years of age; with disturbed communication ability. The method of critical analysis of scientific sources was used to explain current trends of speech therapy and special education diagnostics and also to explain current possibilities and risks while educating students with disturbed communication ability. Simultaneously, the analysis of the diagnostic process in the advisory service was done. The research was done within a six-year term and included 848 respondents. The results showed that a high amount of students are entering first grade of primary school with disturbed communication ability. An analysis of disturbed communication ability and an analysis of progressive speech therapy diagnostics to map language levels was done. Standardised diagnostic tools including mathematical and statistical methods were used to evaluate the results. The results of this research mapped the communication ability of respondents (age 5,5-6,5 years) and showed the need for improvements in the diagnostic process.
